Lance Mackey, much like his namesake the Iditarod Champion, had to over come a rough beginning in life and a serious medical condition. Lance was a turn-in to a shelter after his rear leg was severely broken. This young dog came to us with a pin in his leg which was protruding through the skin and he was starving, weighing only 58 pounds. Lance’s leg is now healed, without a limp, and he is at his ideal weight of 95 pounds. This boy, no matter what he was going through, has always been sweet and loving. Crate trained and easy to walk on a leash, Lance deserves a home worthy of the champion he is. Are you that home?
